Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dental Specialist to join our team. As a Dental Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and efficient medical coding and billing processes. Your expertise in medical records, coding systems, and terminology will contribute to the overall success of our dental practice. Responsibilities: - Review and analyze dental patient records to ensure accurate and complete documentation - Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding systems - Collaborate with dental providers to clarify diagnoses and procedures for accurate coding - Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and regulations - Process dental claims for insurance reimbursement - Follow up on denied or rejected claims and resolve any billing discrepancies - Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry changes and updates related to dental coding and billing practices - Assist with medical collection efforts as needed Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred - Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification strongly preferred - Proven experience in dental or medical coding and billing - Proficient in using dental coding systems, including ICD-10 and ICD-9 - Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and diagnoses related to dentistry - Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding processes - Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively - Knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) system is a plus We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
