Summary

The IT Administration Engineer provides computer or network support for an organization, either employees, customers, or both. The ideal candidate will assist users with installation, troubleshooting, and diagnosing possible hardware and software issues. This role will work for the MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC (MNAe).

Essential Functions (To perform within this position successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.)

Roles & Responsibilities:

Hardware and OS Management

  • Performs file system configuration and management; defines and performs server backups and recovery procedures.
  • Plans and implements server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
  • Performs server and network equipment physical installation
  • Monitors system performance and provides statistics and reports.
  • Manages Active Directory Services and other Server Infrastructure Applications
  • Assists in maintaining the upkeep of Server Room Environments, including Temperatures, access restrictions, cleanliness, etc.
  • Recommends and executes modifications to the server environment to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Maintains Server Hardware Documentation and User Access Information
  • Processes Approval Documents and Monthly and Quarterly Accounting Documents relating to systems maintenance agreements, purchases, and other requisitions.

IT Asset & Licensing Compliance Management

  • Facilitates needs for ongoing technical support and upgrade protection on IT Equipment by ensuring maintenance, support, and upgrade protection renewals are managed before expiration dates.
  • Maintains a good business relationship with vendors by properly managing contracts to ensure MOBIS receives savings opportunities for renewals, software licensing, and services to increase customer value.
  • Collects information for budgeting, software compliance, inventory, and cost comparisons for future purchases.
  • Stores and manages software license proof of ownership documents.
  • Maintains the IT Department Asset Inventory

End-user PC Support

  • Installs and performs minor repairs to hardware, software, and peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Oversees the daily performance of computer systems.
  • Sets up equipment for team member use by properly installing cables, operating systems, and other pertinent software.
  • Trains users in the proper use of hardware and corporate software.
  • Manages Email Account creation for all Employees.
  • Recommends Improvements/Upgrades to software and hardware.
  • Assists users by responding to inquiries regarding software or hardware issues (Troubleshooting) in person, via telephone, or via remote desktop connection.
  • Maintains IT Workflow Process & Policy Enforcement through IT forms and requests from end users.

Basic Qualifications (The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required and preferred for this position.)

Required Experience:

  • One to two years of experience in a position dealing with PC and IT Assets
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems, including installation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of computer and server hardware
  • Working knowledge of client-server model in computing environments
  • Working knowledge of server software and protocols such as Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
  • Basic understanding of networking as it relates to a server environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Office setting, some walking and standing within and between buildings.
