  • Financial Performance:
Plays an active role in creating financial targets for the market/department and monitors actual performance against targets are a regular basis. Meet or exceed budget targets. Proactively address shortfalls with timely, creative solutions. Determine departmental needs with innovative strategies while using good judgement and integrity in all circumstances.
  • Operational/Departmental Performance:
Oversight of Dispatch activities and associated policies and procedures. Responsible for the oversight of the scheduling, training, retention, and performance of personnel in Dispatch. Responsible for compliance initiatives related to areas of risk with 911 and non-emergent call taking. Reviews and acts upon, as necessary, all incidents, deviations, exceptions, and issues reported by Dispatch and/or Operations staff. Ensure compliance with the Principles of Emergency Medical Dispatch, MMR Quality Assurance, and Medical Priority Consultants for Accreditation as a Center of Excellence (ACE) and CAAS. Ensure that all Dispatch personnel are properly trained and obtain/maintain all required credentials. Attends assigned public official meetings to represent Dispatch. Facilitates positive relations between Dispatch and Road Staff. Creates, measures and monitors department performance standards.
Knowledge, Skill And Competency Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business, management, or related field highly desired
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • 5-10 years demonstrated experience in a business environment or related industry including logistics, transportation, dispatching, fleet, or similar
  • Experience managing others
  • Competency and proficiency to function in any position within Dispatch (EMD and EMD-Q Certified)
  • Ability to interpret data and make changes to operations based on the data
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Delegate effectively
  • Unwavering integrity in all situations
  • Adapt positively to organizational change
  • Ability to objectively and accurately evaluate performance of subordinates
  • Advanced computer skills including the ability to utilize a computer PC with Windows operating system, run reports, and proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Physical Factors: Most work is done in a typical office setting, but with daily exposure in all other department areas. Suitable dexterity to operate standard office equipment. Capability to stand or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds.
