Mobile County Public Schools is Hiring a REGISTRAR Near Mobile, AL

The duties include but are not limited to:

    Assists parents with the completion of registration.
    Responsible for the enrollment process of all STC students and the entry of that data into PowerSchool.
    Sends record requests to the student's former school.
    Responsible for the maintenance and confidentiality of student records.
    Responsible for the withdrawal process of students including seeing that the Exit Interview is completed.
    Responsible for sending records of withdrawn students to the student's new school.
    Must maintain, post, and handle all transcripts.
    Responsible for distribution and collection of grade verification sheets and the posting of grades during grade reporting periods.
    Maintains the graduation co-hort data records.
    May verify enrollment and attendance records for Social Security, Social Services, Department of Education, Military Agencies, auto and medical insurance companies.
    Sends official transcripts of students to colleges, trade schools, and the Armed Services.
    Answers office telephone, routes calls and responds appropriately to requests for information as needed.
    Acts as receptionist as needed.
    Acts as a back up to the central office records clerk.
    Performs various related office duties as assigned.
    All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a high school graduate from a regionally accredited school or have GED equivalent.

Must be computer knowledgeable with expertise in Windows, Excel, Word, WordPerfect, Access, Lotus, or other comparable or similar software.

Must be proficient in English grammar and spelling.

Requires the ability to interpret, apply, and communicate District policies and

procedures and State Education Codes covering registration, records, matriculation, and graduation.

Must be able to interact with a diverse range of formal and informal contacts with courtesy and patience.

Requires the ability maintain the privacy of student records and information.

Requires the ability to understand and implement constant changes involving district and state policies.

Requires record keeping, data entry, file management, general office, and clerical skills.

Must be skilled in general filing.

Must pass a basic skills test which includes Keyboarding and Data Entry.

**Applicants selected for classified positions must undergo (or have undergone) an ABI/FBI criminal history background check (fingerprinting administered through sites selected and approved by the MCPSS and State of Alabama Education Department) and be declared suitable and fit to teach under state law. Applicants selected must also pass a drug-screening test via forms provided by Human Resources during the selection process.**
