IT Security Analyst

IT Security Analyst will play a crucial role in safeguarding the organization's information systems and data assets from cyber threats.

IT Security Analyst will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement security measures, monitor for security incidents, and develop strategies to enhance overall security posture.

What you will do:

  • Monitor security systems, including intrusion detection/prevention systems, firewalls, and SIEM tools, to identify and respond to security threats in real-time.
  • Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, assess risks, and recommend remediation actions to strengthen security controls.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of security policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Investigate and analyze security incidents, including conducting forensic analysis and root cause analysis, and recommend appropriate actions to mitigate future risks.
  • Participate in security awareness training programs to educate employees about cybersecurity best practices and promote a culture of security awareness throughout the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and assist in evaluating and recommending new security solutions and enhancements.
  • Participate in incident response activities, including developing and testing incident response plans, coordinating response efforts, and providing guidance and support to incident response teams.

What you bring:

  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, Operating systems, and information security principles.
  • Familiarity with common security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, antivirus, and encryption.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures.
  • Desire to learn new skills and technology.
  • Proven ability as a communicator and team contributor.

Education / Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks, such as NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO 27001, CIS Controls, and GDPR.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security , Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) are a plus.
  • Prior experience as system or network administrator is a plus.
  • Prior experience or internships in cybersecurity or IT security roles are desirable but not required.

Shift / Hours: Mon - Fri Days

Pay Rate: $75k to $85k
