The MNTN Operations team is seeking a Vendor Operations Manager. This team member will play a vital role in managing and enhancing partnerships between MNTN and vendors. Responsible for managing vendor operations, including vendor evaluation and selection, onboarding and implementations, and nurturing ongoing relationships. This position demands a fusion of strategic acumen, adept communication abilities, and proactive problem-solving.

What you'll do 

  • Lead the full vendor management lifecycle of all software and third-party vendors managed by Operations and serve as a project manager for vendor-led implementations to ensure alignment with project management processes
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, Finance, Legal, Systems, and other internal team members to supervise all vendor management activities, including vendor selection, governance to ensure timely execution of contracts and efficient delivery of Software and services
  • Evaluate new technical solutions to improve our software stack and deliver exceptional value to the business
  • Evaluate vendor performance, handle day-to-day relationships proactively, coordinate regular vendor reviews, and provide intelligent industry analysis as needed through a quarterly review process aligned with vendor contract start and end dates, encompassing surveys to capture sentiments and gathering feedback regarding the software's performance from relevant stakeholders
  • Collect and analyze data to draw conclusions related to cost reduction opportunities, contract renewals, new engagements, and key projects 
  • Foster the development and maintenance of robust vendor relationships, emphasizing transparent communication, goal alignment, and productive collaboration
  • Manage communications throughout the vendor life cycle, ensuring that all relevant parties are kept informed on the status of their requests
  • Optimize, standardize, and implement vendor strategy and processes and procedures in partnership with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Systems, and Project Management and develop a playbook including vendor management best practices
  • Negotiates contracts and manages pricing in partnership with Legal and Finance, and oversees vendor performance to ensure the best possible value for the business
  • Own vendor onboarding and end-user training for new and existing employees in collaboration with the vendor and Learning & Enablement team
  • Manage the vendor management software, including the upkeep of workflows, requests, and approvals

What you’ll bring

  • 3-5 years of experience independently managing vendor procurement and operations
  • Experience in managing vendor-led software implementations
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of work experience and education will be considered
  • Ability to identify and deliver value as it is defined by key stakeholders
  • Experience negotiating vendor contracts 
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in roadmap development
  • Ability to effectively facilitate stakeholder meetings
  • Ability to effectively monitor and coordinate vendor activities with the various stakeholders
  • Ability to forecast risk, develop risk mitigation plans, and respond effectively to vendor issues and challenges
  • Ability to set and manage expectations
  • Strong initiative and ability to work in a self-directed environment with a “can do” attitude and growth mindset
  • Proficiency in analyzing data, setting priorities, and solving complex problems effectively
  • Ability to communicate the right level of information to executives and cross-functional teams at the right cadence
  • Exceptional interpersonal and influence skills
  • Experience using work management software 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using vendor management software
  • 1 project management fundamentals course highly preferred
  • Experience using Jira preferred
