Overview:
This dynamic law firm is seeking an experienced Small Molecule Patent Agent from a top U.S. law firm with a superb life sciences background. This position is designed for professionals with a strong foundation in biotechnology and life sciences, complemented by experience in a leading U.S. law firm. The selected candidate will participate in a comprehensive mentorship and training program, aimed at broadening their expertise. Collaborating with experienced partners in several locations, the role facilitates significant skill enhancement in the areas of patent preparation and prosecution. Responsibilities:

• Respond to U.S. office actions with the USPTO
• Conduct prior art and freedom-to-operate searches for patentability and freedom-to-operate analysis
• Draft high-quality U.S. patent applications
• Be an integral member of the team and invest in attorneys with both mentorship and professional growth

Qualifications:

• Ideal candidates will have a Biology-related PhD
• Must be eligible for USPTO admissions
• Superior academic credentials required
• Outstanding writing ability is required
• 2 years of top law firm patent prosecution experience in a broad range of biology applications which may include molecular and cellular biology, genetics, and/or immunology

Anticipated Base Salary Range:
The anticipated base salary range is $125,000-$250,000 per year. Actual salary will depend on several factors including but not limited to specific qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
