Minnesota Retina Associates is a new Twin Cities based partner practice of Northwest Eye Clinic and Minnesota Eye Consultants. We are excited to be hiring for this new team that will be supporting our Retina only Providers as we grow across our region.
Ophthalmic Assistant
The Ophthalmic Assistant is responsible for diagnostic testing and work-up as delegated by the physician to allow for proper professional diagnosis of the patient's conditions.
Our practice offers advancement opportunities and on-the-job training and we promote and encourage growth.
Team members can work to advance from COA to COT and COMT and will be supported on this journey.
Location/Schedule:
This position will work Monday-Friday, between the hours of 7:00am-5:00pm. The Home base for this position are the new Minnesota Retina Associates clinic locations in Golden Valley and Bloomington.
This position will travel between Golden Valley and Bloomington. During training and when schedule demands, travel may be required at Minnetonka, Maple Grove, St. Anthony, Wayzata, and Woodbury.
Compensation:
We offer a competitive starting wage including a comprehensive benefits package with: 401K, health insurance, dental insurance as well as other comprehensive benefits.
$1,000.00 hiring bonus (12-month service commitment required).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform and document subjective and objective ophthalmic testing efficiently to provide basic information necessary for ophthalmic examinations. This includes but is not limited to: history, visual acuities, lensometry (manual and auto), refractometry, keratometry (manual and automated), visual fields, tonometry, assisting with office procedures, perform contact lens I&R’s
Educate patients regarding diagnostic testing and their clinic visit
Open and close exam rooms, ensure all equipment is clean and ready for the doctor, stock all necessary supplies
Inform patients of the purpose of all tests performed and how they will be affected during the tests
Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Optometry or ophthalmology experience preferred (retina experience a plus but not required)
