Mmt Ambulance is Hiring a Billing Specialist - Cleveland, OH Near Omaha, NE

Summary/Objective
Responsible for billing and collection processes for the Company. Completes billing and coding,
answers inquiries from insurance companies and patients, and explains all actions pertaining to
the billing/accounting/collections processes.

Lifting 40# Low (0%-25%)
Standing Medium (25%-50%)
Sitting High (50%-75%)
Walking Medium (25%-50%)

Essential Functions
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the
essential functions.
1. Provide the highest level of customer service to a wide variety of internal and external
customers.
2. Manage and maintain billing processes by verifying the completion of run reports daily
and generating 24-hour report to the manager
3. Verify and obtain patient demographics, personal insurance information and completion
of all required forms
4. Enter necessary and required claim information into the billing system within 72 hours of
date of service.
5. Identify the responsible party for ambulance transports and bill according to the specific
guidelines set forth by the payer.
6. Review aging report monthly and follow up with claims- report outcome to manager
7. Keep manager informed of any situations related to insurance denials, patient accounts,
or patient complaints.
8. Receive payment for services and apply accordingly. Checking and balancing daily.
9. Collections- set up payment arrangements, review calls for proper billing, financial
assistant forms etc.
10. Abides by federal, state, and local laws

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard
office equipment computers, multi-line phones, fax, copier, printers, and scanners.


Physical Demands

1. Must be able to sit for long periods of times
2. Must be able to hear well
3. Must be able to speak, write, and understand English fluently

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Full time positions generally between Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.


Travel

No travel is expected for this position


Required Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or GED
2. Medical coding
3. Billing experience
4. Experience using Microsoft software
5. Familiar with Federal and State rules and regulations


Preferred Education and Experience

1. Have or obtain a Certified Ambulance Coder (CAC) certification


Additional Eligibility Requirements

1. Must pass company provided physical exam (post offer, pre- employment) & Drug
Screen
2. Must successfully complete company sponsored EVOC
