MMI Hospitality Group is Hiring a Corporate Director of Procurement Near Birmingham, AL

MMI Hospitality is looking for a Corporate Director of Procurement located at our home office in the greater Jackson, MS area. The Procurement Director is responsible for leading the procurement efforts for the enterprise. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining strategic supplier relationships and managing the development of contracts, contractual relationships and contract management to deliver continuous improvement in delivery of goods and services by the supply base. Additional responsibilities include the management of the rebate program; management of the purchasing software and the purchasing process from the request for proposal (RFP) stage through delivery.
The ideal candidate will have at least seven years of experience as either a corporate Procurement role, working in a similar role with a food distribution company or as a food vendor. Experience negotiating contracts and sourcing and securing rebates along with ensuring that all rebates are received and reported timely and accurately is required. Additional skills and experience we are looking for includes experience in layout and design of kitchen equipment; sourcing and purchasing equipment; experience comparing pricing for potential clients and determining savings; tracking and maintaining renewal contracts.
Additional responsibilities include
 
  • Ownership of the rebate program to include ensuring all rebates received are timely, accurate and recorded properly.
  • Research, and recommend manufacturing contracts with ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms. Once manufacturing contract has been approved, responsible for ownership of the relationship.
  • Negotiate contract terms with supplies to ensure value for money, quality standards and delivery terms with technical and operational input from stakeholders if appropriate.
  • Obtain bids from vendors according to the specifications set by the division head or regional manager.
  • Communication with stakeholders including property managers, chefs, district managers and general managers when supply chain issue dispute receipt of goods. Provide alternate solutions to mitigate supply chain issues.
  • Works with stakeholders in the pricing and sourcing of equipment including but not limited to kitchen, restaurant and cafeteria.
  • Works with stakeholders in pricing and sourcing of soft and case goods for hotels.
  • Manage the procurement of bulk chemical, packaging material, consumable supplies and third-party services in support of ongoing operations.
  • Track renewal of service contracts and negotiate as required.
  • Serves as primary contact for procurement related questions, training, policy and procedure interpretation.
  • Manage current procurement policies, procedures and programs with a focus on their ability to enhance organizational value and efficiency.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a supplier relationship and evaluation process to measure effective supplier performance and compliance.
  • Help with the design, layout and purchase of equipment for new construction, renovation and replacement.
  • Analyze invoices for potential new clients or businesses to determine cost.
  • Ownership of Foodbuy program.
  • Negotiate and oversee various contracts including linen, dairy, produce and other goods.
  • Responsible for ensuring that chemical/dish machine management is effective.
  • Manage the deployment and use of procurement software.
  • Development and implementation of organizational procurement strategy.
  • Manage the RFP process of goods and services within procurement area of responsibility.
  • Evaluate the challenges faced by the business and act to mitigate risk and develop opportunities.
  • Identification and realization of cost-saving and cost-reduction opportunities.
  • Provides leadership to continually enhance menu systems for market competitiveness, consumer satisfaction and Cost control balance.
  • Provide leadership and process coordination for food and supply purchases utilizing the most innovative and market Competitive resources to negotiate pricing.
  • Oversee innovative marketing of food and supply items (including presentation of new food products and cuttings) to create excitement in accounts.
  • Direct merchandising approaches for competitive advantage, customer satisfaction and to improve customer counts and check averages in retail accounts.
  • In addition, other duties may be required as directed by your manager.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
