Cyber Security Intern –Summer 2024

Nature of Work

Aid in creatingprocesses and documentation regarding cyber security. Provide first-levelsupport & direction to end users on a variety of issues, including thesetup, repair, maintenance, & upgrade of hardware & software.Identifies, researches & resolves technical problems. Provides networksupport services as directed. 

Essential Duties &Responsibilities

• Aid in the creation of baseline filtering for security logging
• Work with senior team members to install and monitor new cyber security tools
• Assist in the creation of cyber security policy documentation
• Document, track, & monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution
• Provide end-user technical support for computers, applications, & infrastructure
• Complete the setup, testing, & deployment of new PCs, smart phones, & tablets for end users
• Maintain a database of all IT related equipment
• Troubleshoot, recommend, &, as needed, resolve problems on company IT equipment
• Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization

Qualifications

• Knowledge of cyber security tools/functions, such as:
  
  • Firewalls
  • Antivirus
  • Email/spam filters
  • DNS filtering
  • MFA
  • IPS
• Basic knowledge and experience with cyber security best practices
• Experience with technical writing is preferred
• Currently pursuing a degree in Cyber Security, Information Technology, Computer Science, or another related field
• Self-motivated and results-oriented
