MMC001 Marshall Medical Center is Hiring a Remote Medical Social Worker

Department: Social Services Shift: Primarily Days (United States of America) Employee Type: Regular Per Diem Type (if applicable) Minimum Pay Range $39.23 - $48.87 Job Description POSITION SUMMARY The Medical Social Worker (MSW) evaluates psychosocial status and needs of patients and provides social work services, with a focus on addressing the emotional and social problems related to illness, to patients in acute, transitional and home care settings. Coordinates the integration of Social Services function with the Case Management department and other services. Ensures quality of service and compliance with regulatory standards. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education/Licensure/Certification: Master’s Degree in Social Work required. Knowledge: Minimum one year of social work experience in a health care setting (Pathway to Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) provided). Demonstrated leadership, integrity, initiative and effective communication skills Knowledge of community resources and health care financial system. Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, openness to change and willingness to try new approaches. Experience with team building, consensus building and group facilitation, therapeutic communication and counseling. The ability to function independently, self-directed and proven effective organization and prioritization skills. Must have the physical and mental health adequate to meet the demands of the job.
