I. Essential Functions:

The Supply Chain Manager will manage the end-to-end supply chain process for the site from order entry to finished goods shipment to maximize service, responsiveness, agility, and cost in line with customer expectations and the Indianapolis Plant budget. They play a crucial role in developing and maintaining good relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. The Supply Chain Manager has overall responsibility for all aspects of customer service, planning and scheduling, logistics and materials management, as well as overall planning, management, and reporting across the supply chain for the site.

II. Specific Duties, Activities, and Responsibilities:

The Supply Chain Manager will collaborate with supply chain managers at other sites as necessary, to optimize demand/capacity balancing, supply, and sourcing across the region. The Supply Chain Manager has a short to medium term planning and decision-making horizon of today through 1 year. They will manage a small number of direct reports, including the activities of customer service, planning / scheduling and logistics and materials management teams. The Supply Chain Manager will report directly to the Managing Director.

  • Collaborate and build value-adding relationships with Sales teams and Operations teams to ensure timely and accurate provision of goods in line with customer demand.
  • Manage and support the customer service, planning and scheduling, and logistics / materials management teams based on site, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration of end-to-end processes.
  • Look for opportunities to further streamline and automate order capture to increase efficiency and reduce customer order lead time
  • Accountable for the internal control of material ordering, inventory and finished goods inventory across site.
  • Ensure all procurement (direct and indirect) is timely and effectively managed
  • Lead initiatives to improve the flow of raw materials and finished goods in the warehouses
  • Accountable for the management and control of the delivery of completed orders in line with customer requirements.
  • Facilitate site level S&OP inputs and own reconciliation action plan (capacity changes, resource plan)
  • Responsible within the site for ensuring the accuracy of supply planning inputs (line speeds, labour plans etc.)
  • Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions in a timely manner
  • Accountable for accurate and effective line schedules that align with business priorities
  • Oversee the effective and efficient onboarding of new products and customers.
  • Make business cases as necessary for investments that will improve supply chain performance and contribute to site top and bottom line.
  • Implement the supply chain strategy at the site to deliver required supply chain performance, customer satisfaction and organizational objectives.
  • Design and implement appropriate supply chain solutions in line with customer requirements, changing market conditions, new business opportunities, and/or cost reduction strategies. Build appropriate relationships with Customer SCM organisation to develop the correct supply solutions e.g., VMI, MTS, MTO.
  • Input to effective on-site business continuity planning, collaborating as necessary with colleagues from other sites within the Region.
  • Lead a high-performance culture; committed to agreed-upon objectives and takes pride in work; demonstrates energy, enthusiasm, positive attitude, and creativity in problem solving.
  • Ensure that overall performance meets MM’s high standards in the areas of customer service and satisfaction, including but not limited to lead times and on time delivery. Agree, manage, report against, and continually improve supply chain KPIs.
  • Drive continual improvement of on-site supply chain performance, resulting in improvements in customer service and satisfaction, efficient planning and production scheduling, effective raw materials and inventory management, and efficient distribution.

  • Talent Management – Identify and develop the future leaders of the Company in the areas of supply chain management, production management, Customer Service, procurement, and scheduling.

  • A minimum of 5 years supply chain management experience including leadership of one or more core supply chain function (customer service, planning / scheduling, logistics and materials management)
  • Working experience within a supply chain environment, driving value added processes, effective prioritization, and service levels.
  • Proven experience optimizing organizational performance through improved integration of logistics systems and functional support.
  • Demonstrated experience of creating and implementing supply chain management concepts/processes/organisation across one or multiple sites.
  • Detailed understanding of the S&OP process.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in thinking to allow a variety of approaches to be used to optimize supply chain performance to deliver outstanding service to customers at optimized costs.
  • Experience working with commercial teams and driving P&L performance e.g., cost and pricing.
  • Able to think creatively, logically, and independently to solve problems encountered in supply chain, manufacturing, production, materials planning and the quality fields.
  • Effective people leader, able to drive engagement and high performance
  • Must be a customer-focused change agent with demonstrated and excellent collaboration, communication and influencing skills.
  • Able to build value added relationships.
  • Strong process improvement and data-driven management and reporting experience and capabilities
  • Hands on experience with supply chain management software
  • Up to date knowledge of the latest supply chain management concepts
