MKD Electric is seeking an experienced Low-Voltage Foreman. As part of this role…

Is to help us maintain the level of excellence that our clients have come to expect, through Safety, Quality and Service. We are looking for the right person to step into a division with a foundation already set of repeat customers, teams in place across the nation, an established track record of success with an immense amount of uncapitalized opportunities for growth 

What you will do…

  • Analyzes blueprints, schematics, and drawings of electrical systems for the purpose of determining the efficient installation of new or upgraded systems 
  • Perform structured cabling (Cat5 and Cat6), fiber optic installation, and terminations and repair functions 
  • Install, test and repair CCTV and DVR systems for various job sites by following blueprints to ensure correct installation locations 
  • Install Cat-5E from workstations to MDF for data and telephone 
  • Pull and terminate cat-5 and cat-6 phone and data cabling 
  • Trim plates, connections for cat5, coax, and security 
  • Build MDF and IDF closets and pull and terminate copper and fiber 
  • Manage devices such as firewalls, routers, switches, and WAP 

What you will need to succeed…

  • Must be safety conscious 
  • Technical skills and knowledge of structured cabling systems 
  • Working knowledge of TIA and BICSI Standards 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills 
  • Excellent time management, planning and decision-making skills 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Outlook applications
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills

Preferred experience…

  • Fluent in English and Spanish preferred 
  • Experience in Data Centers a plus 
  •  Industry specific manufacturer certifications and BICSI training and/or certifications 
  • Military Veteran with training experience is a plus 
  • Journeyman’s Certification through accredited program

  • Work from various heights via platforms, scaffolds, ladders, or man-lifts 
  • Operate, maintain, and work near various power equipment, including, but not limited to, forklifts, man-lifts, excavators, drills, saws, hydraulic tools, and automatic machinery 
  • Must be able to lift to 60 pounds independently; lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels. 
  • Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet. 
  • Requires standing for extended period with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping, pushing and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors. 
  •  Must be able to carry and transport up to 60 pounds up to 20 feet.
