Description
SUMMARY
To purchase within the specified parameters set by Mizner to attain the highest quality product for the lowest qualified price point. Responsible for the procurement of all food and beverage products, related equipment, supplies, and other items needed for the food and beverage operation and clubhouse housekeeping department. Responsible for ordering, receiving and safeguarding items inside the main clubhouse. Maintains sufficient inventory levels as directed by Executive Chef and as needed by other departments. Responsible for filling and delivering requisitions to all outlets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Works closely with the Executive Chef in all aspects of the purchasing function to ensure specifications are met.
  • Bids, purchases, receives, and documents all food, beverage, and operational supplies for Mizner.
  • Bids on products to be purchased comparing companies to procure the best products with best prices with the best prices on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Maintains receiving logs in accordance with the guidelines set by Mizner.
  • Records and submits food invoices to accounting and all others to the Executive Chef.
  • Fills requisitions and costs on a weekly basis to properly account for departmental expenses.
  • Helps to identify new products and processes which are potentially useful to the club.
  • Helps distribute bids, receive quotes, and make purchase decisions.
  • Orders, receives, and maintains inventory of food, beverages, and food and beverage and clubhouse supplies. Inspects goods to ensure quality requirements are met upon acceptance of delivery.
  • Stores purchased goods properly and rotated stock to ensure efficient use of inventory.
  • Interacts with vendor personnel regarding shortages, price changes and related matters.
  • Works with the Executive Chef to ensure quality standards and purchase quantities are accurate.
  • Helps to minimize losses from product or supply pilferage, spoilage, or obsolescence.
  • Utilizes procedures that minimize operating costs for purchase and storage of all products.
  • Inspects storage areas and assures compliance with current health codes.
  • Works closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate and timely delivery of invoicing, inventory control, and general budget compliance.
  • Always manages proper sanitary conditions to exceed state and local laws.
  • Manages monthly inventory by printing updated sheets.
  • Always maintains organized work and storage areas.
  • Performs daily inspections of all storage areas and reports and follows up on all infractions.
  • Communicates with members, co-workers, management, and the public in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of Mizner.
  • Keeps walk-in, freezer, and storeroom areas organized, clean, and in proper repair and condition.
  • Ensures that all storage areas are locked according to club policies.
  • Participates in departmental and club training and meetings.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move 10 to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
