As a Tax Accountant, your role involves several key responsibilities and tasks to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant preparation and filing of tax returns for individuals, companies, and organizations. Here's a detailed breakdown of what this role entails.
- Prepare individual (1040), partnership (1065), corporate (1120), and S-corporation (1120S) income tax returns along with their Federal and State extensions
- Fulfill franchise tax return requirements for various states
- Analyze financial statements of businesses and provide accurate financial information to aid in their strategic decision-making
- Conduct technical and analytical reviews of tax returns to check for accuracy and qualified deductions
- File sales tax for various businesses
- Provide timely payroll processing services for various business owners
- Form new companies, reinstate forfeited and franchise tax involuntarily ended companies, and handle amendments
- Convert SMLLC, partnerships, and C-corporations into S-corporations by submitting elections to the IRS
- Work in a dedicated Team Environment
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in accounting
- 3.5 GPA min
- All hours for CPA Certification OR seriously pursuing hours.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Work in person
Qualifications
- You possess a CPA License in the United States
- Seriously pursuing CPA license
- Willing to pursue your CPA license in the State of Texas
