Description

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for purchasing raw materials, inventory control, ensuring food grade compliance, and backing up the CSR team and logistics department as needed. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Forecasts paper stock tonnage needs off production schedule, customer print schedules, & job tickets. 
• Works with several paper mills & paper brokers to ensure Rock is getting paper stock needed & at the most affordable price. 
• Manages paper inventory to ensure Rock has the paper stock needed so that the production schedule is not affected. 
• Keeps obsolete paper stock warehoused at offsite warehouse so that Plant 1 paper warehouse is manageable.
• Verifies impression/copy counts daily off shift web reports. 
• Works closely with Production Supervision, Paper Receiving/Scheduling, Customer Service, Sales & Rock Management about the ever-changing paper needs for Rock’s production schedule. 
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 1-2 years experience in Inventory control and/or Purchasing. 
• Must be well organized, able to respond quickly to changing situations 
• Must be organized and have the ability to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervision required 
• Effective communications skills with all levels within the organization, clients, and outside vendors 
• Strong computer skills and proficient in Microsoft products 
• Detail oriented; excels in problem identification and resolution 
• Able to work through customer demands and shifting priorities 
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 
• Must have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines 
• Ability to use basic math skills, such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, measurements and critical thinking, to solve practical problems 
• Able to work non-traditional hours (as needed)
