Position Overview:

The credit manager is a high-level position within Commercial Finance. This position includes developing, managing, and leading the credit underwriting function for the Industrial vertical. The corresponding responsibilities will support the goals and initiatives outlined by senior executives within the company.

The incumbent accepts the responsibility for establishing and maintaining the internal control system associated with the essential duties and responsibilities of the functional areas that the incumbent manages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

(List in order of time spent)

  • Manage the underwriting responsibilities to support the Industrial vertical.
  • Proficient in the understanding and analysis of financial statements and tax return data
  • Prior underwriting experience within the Industrial industry strongly preferred (machine tools, fabrication, printing, packaging, and woodworking equipment ideally)
  • Recruit, train and mentor staff.
  • Oversee the decisioning of transactions within an appropriate time frame.
  • Maintain pricing discipline as outlined by Risk Management.
  • Adjudicate transactions to present to credit committee for senior executive review.
  • Present transactions, that exceed credit authority, to the Vice President – Credit for review
  • Communicate with “Clients” (sales, vendors, potential and existing customers) in a professional manner.
  • Work across functions, with peers in other departments, for strategy development and execution planning
  • Communicate goals and company performance to your staff.
  • Travel, when requested, to visit with Clients.
  • Advocate to support initiatives outlined by senior executives.
  • Initiate process improvements for underwriting larger exposure transactions.
  • Ensure clarity around policy and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong financial statement underwriting skills.
  • 7 years commercial underwriting experience. 2 years managerial experience a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred fields of study are Finance or Accounting.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 10 pounds.

The salary will be between $113000.00 and $135600.00 with an opportunity to earn (a discretionary annual bonus).

The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience and education.
