POSITION SUMMARY

Mitsubishi Electric Power Products, Inc (MEPPI) is looking for a Corporate Strategy Director to focus on identifying, developing, and overseeing strategic initiatives that align with the organization's goals and objectives. In addition, the successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership, cross-functional teams, and external partners to identify, plan, and execute strategic projects that drive growth.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Champion and facilitate division and group level strategies and manage the quarterly corporate strategy meetings. Ensure department and division strategic plans are in alignment with the Company’s strategic goals and objectives.
• Evaluate and assess the performance, risk, and composition of a portfolio of investments to make informed investment recommendations to manage risk and achieve financial objectives.
• Prepare strategic plan documents for approval and presentation to Mitsubishi Electric Power Products Inc. (MEPPI) management and to Mitsubishi Electric Inc. of Japan.
• Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of strategic projects that involve cross-functional teams. Monitor progress, identify obstacles, and implement solutions to keep initiatives on track.
• Support company-level strategic planning and special projects as directed. Define, capture, and implement projects in line with the Company’s strategic plans, goals, and objectives. Monitor and evaluate strategic performance against existing strategies and recommend changes as appropriate.
• Gather and analyze information from MEPPI and MELCO sources, customers, industry thought leaders, and external sources in the areas of industry and technology trends and competitive landscapes to identify strategic opportunities and risks. Identify and report on the potential impacts of these opportunities and risks on the Company.
• Utilize data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making. Analyze KPI’s to evaluate the success of strategic initiatives. Prepare and deliver reports to executive leadership on the progress and impact of initiatives.
• Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships that align with the organization's goals. Assist with the negotiation of agreements with external partners and maintain relationships with partners to ensure mutual success.
• Identify new business opportunities for existing products and services and investigate and promote opportunities for new products and services.
• Participate in industry events to identify trends, innovation, and new product developments.
• Manage and direct staff according to Company policies and procedures to achieve division and department objectives. Develop employees by training, cross training and providing continuing education opportunities. Conduct performance reviews and provide input for salary decisions.
• Support and assist the MEPPI President as needed.
• Further the goals and positive, professional image of the Company by effective dealings with customers, vendors, and internal departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 7 years of experience with industrial scale electrical power systems including Master’s level education in economics, finance, accounting, or business administration with a minimum 7 years of experience with strategic planning and project management with involvement in mergers and acquisitions.
• Advanced interpersonal, communication and presentation skills required to communicate with employees, executives, vendors, customers, and industry experts at all levels.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex ideas and strategies.
• Advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Office products
