Duties/Responsibilities:

* Identifydifferent types and sizes of steel needed for the job (primarily HRS and CRS).* Proficient in reading and interpreting Engineering blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, work orders, and sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work pieces, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.* Skilled in using various machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.

• Specific experience with conventional Engine Lathe work for turning, boring, threading, or facing metal materials.

• Strong understanding of materials, cutting speeds, and feeds to optimize machining processes.

* Ability to read and understand a tape measure, 12-inch scale, micrometers, calipers, and other measuring devices (Imperial and Metric).

* Inspect finished parts and record results

* Adherence to safety protocols and attention to detail to produce accurate components.

* Maintaina clean and organized work area.

* Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal functionality.

* Effective communication skills to collaborate withengineers or other team members and interpret project requirements.

*Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues during the machining process.*Perform other duties as assigned.*Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to be present at work, arrive on time be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift, and work mandatory overtime when necessary.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.

• Experience:3 years experience operating manual lathes.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Computer Skills: Windows Operating System

• Certifications &Licenses: Technical school certificate preferred.

• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, diameters, radius, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry. Must be able to convert fractions to decimals, must be familiar with the metric system and metric to imperial conversions.

• Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
