The Security Services Department's overall mission is to identify and counter security threats to the MIT Lincoln Laboratory's mission of development of game-changing technology in support of National Security, including guarding against compromise by foreign intelligence agencies and insider threats. Who are we?

MIT Lincoln Laboratory is a Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) whose mission is research in support of National Security.

What will you do?

Assist with the supervision of a high functioning team responsible for the 24x7 monitoring and dispatching of any alarm received within the Security Operations Center.
* Assist with the creation of schedules, identifying staffing requirements, and providing training for all Alarm Control Operators in a 24/7 operations center
* Provide guidance and instruction to Alarm Control Operators in the performance of their duties
* Assist with the programming of the Intrusion Detection System (IDS) hardware equipment which encompasses additions, modifications, system configurations, and automated schedules to the enterprise physical IDS application
* Configure command strings in support of video surveillance and shift schedules to drive alarm events in the IDS to support daily Laboratory business operations
* Generate additional subsets of sensitive IDS transaction reports when required
* Administer subscriber PINs for secure facility users and provide subscriber reports to special security representatives
* Assist with IDS report generation, including preparing / maintaining current room access information and running adhoc reports as required
* Assist with reviewing IDS transactional information for inconsistencies and suboptimal system behavior
* Collaborate with Facilities Service Department (FSD) project managers and integrators to facilitate installations of intrusion detection and access control systems
* Attend and participate in meetings with the Security Applications & Systems Team, FSD Engineering, and IDS integrator regarding security application/system issues, upgrades, and projects
* Manage the KVM systems/equipment and administer privileges to user stations
* Primary point of contact for the administration and troubleshooting of the land mobile radio system, phone recorder, and video wall
* Assist the Lead, Alarm Control Operator as required

What you need/Requirements:

For this position, you must meet these basic requirements.
* Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Business Management, Information Technology or 2-4 years of direct experience preferred
* 3-5 years of experience supervising and leading teams of various sizes is required
* Working knowledge of PCs and associated business software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Ability to utilize and adapt to new information systems is preferred
* Proven knowledge and understanding of IDS alarm events customized for the MIT Lincoln Laboratory environment
* Knowledge and understanding of Underwriters' Laboratories requirements and compliance obligations
* Experience in complex emergency dispatch centers
* Experience within the DoD National Industrial Security Program
* Selected candidate must be a reliable self-starter who makes sound, well-informed, and objective decisions
* Works independently under minimal supervision, with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex situations, follow-up and respond to customer needs
* Must be able to organize assignments within given time frames and possess excellent inter-personal skills
* Selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret level DoD security clearance with compartmented program access
