Job PurposeA Software Engineer II is an experienced member of the Agile team. The
developer is involved in all stages of software development, from conception and
deployment to support. As an integral part of a cross-functional agile team, the
responsibilities will include front-end and backend coding, analysis, design,
testing, release and on-going support. In addition to these tasks, a developer will
participate in various DevOps activities.
ResponsibilitiesHigh level of understanding of system and business knowledge. Stays up to date
on tools and programming languages. Develop own capabilities by participating
in assessment and development planning activities while actively improving and
expanding cross-functional skillsets. Maintain an understanding of relevant
technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing
education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media with an
approach towards intellectual curiosity.
Participate as a collaborating member in agile ceremonies with the team
with minimal assistance, able to produce quality code against acceptance
criteria of user stories. Continuously refactor code to improve quality. Provide
manual or automated testing against user stories.
Assist product owner to provide analysis for user stories.
With minimal assistance, monitor, identify, and troubleshoot more complex
software defects in support of existing software applications
Design and oversee the functionality, usability, and accessibility of business critical
portals/websites using content creation and management tools as well as
digital media to ensure that technical continuity is maintained and development
standards are met.
Research and suggest technical developments that contribute to the continuous
improvement of development methods and practices.
Document and maintain records of work. Back up files to ensure instant recovery
if problems occur.
With minimal assistance, able to release new increments through deployment.
Work with the product owner to maintain a roadmap to facilitate application
software development. Have a strong sense of end-to-end ownership.
ExperienceRequired:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
3 years of hands-on experience in software development.
SQL, Java, React, and Jira experience
Desired:
Guidewire certifications, and experience with Jenkins and Spring Framework.
