Mississippi Blood Services needs 500 or more units of blood daily to meet the needs of Mississippi communities and hospitals. Our Marketing Representatives play a critical role in the market by developing relationships with businesses, schools, churches, and groups to help us meet the need by hosting various blood drives. We are looking for individuals to serve as territory subject matter experts, that will generate new blood drive locations and enhance longstanding relationships with new reoccurring drives that will produce units of blood that will help meet our daily collection goals. Individuals should be able to perform the following duties and meet the required qualifications below.

Duties:

• Strong communication skills. Sales are achieved by developing and maintaining strong productive relationships with existing groups and by continuously identifying new groups, specials, and promotional opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Willingness to speak to large groups about the importance of donating and educate host locations about the company tax benefits, donor protection plans, and rewards for employees.
• Develop donor groups and organize all mobile visits in the assigned geographical territory.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to work on proprietary scheduling software.
• Generate mobile prep sheets, change sheets, and material order forms for each mobile visit.
• Attend scheduled blood drives to assist with local recruitment.
• Commit company resources to mobile operations in an efficient, cost-effective manner.
• Goal-oriented is a must.
  • Continuously achieve an acceptable level of performance in the areas of Unit Accuracy and Registration Accuracy, which helps ensure efficient use of MBS's mobile collection resources.
  • Continuously achieve an acceptable level of performance in units collected per drive and number of drives booked per month
  • Consistently achieve unit goals in assigned territory. Sales activities from this position generate nearly 70% of total collections for MBS.

• Extremely detail-oriented and organized.
• Manage all aspects of the mobile from initial contact to follow-up with the contact person, including education of donor groups and delivery of material packets to the chairperson. And, with reporting assistance, maintain accurate physical records of each mobile visit and each donor group.
• Professional and personal abilities to work independently and with other marketing team members.
• Attend department staff meetings, training sessions, and other company-wide meetings

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid MS driver's license and excellent driving record with personal automobile liability insurance coverage.
• Sense of urgency, initiative and drive to get things done correctly and quickly.
• Ability to connect quickly with people in a poised, convincing, and enthusiastic way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with and through other people to complete tasks.
• A good understanding of people, and ability to use that understanding effectively in motivating and persuading others to act.
• Ability to achieve goals promptly.
