This position manages a team of Retirement Plan Specialists in the Pacific Northwest region. The Regional Director regularly interacts with plan sponsors, third party consultants and participants. Critical responsibilities for the position include strong management, coaching and development of assigned regional staff; effective leadership and promotion of corporate mission and initiatives; active strategic and business planning; achievement of all regional sales goals, including growth in new enrollments, net cash flow and participant savings, new plan acquisition, and plan/asset/participant retention.

Significant travel within assigned territory is required.

Residency strongly preferred within the states of Washington or Oregon. Territory includes those states as well as reaches into California and Alaska.

Essential Functions for this role include:

  • Develop and implement business, operating, market and strategic plans for geographic market.
  • Ensure the retention and expansion of existing client base.
  • Personally responsible for selected major relationships within territory.
  • Act as the focal point for communications of essential product/business information from the Corporate Headquarters and the Marketing Division to the assigned RPS.
  • Mentor, train, and coach new Regional Managers.
  • Handle SMARSH reviews for new Regional Managers who do not have the Series 26 license.
  • Instill a high level of sales motivation in the territorial team and serve as coach and on-the- job trainer as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned.

If you have the following skills, we encourage you to apply:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  • Five to seven years of experience.
  • Proven field sales record with large multi-million-dollar financial services/retirement accounts.

  • Two to four years of Regional Manager experience.

  • FINRA Series 65 required.
  • FINRA Series 26 (or 24 in lieu of 26) required.
  • State life insurance license required.
  • Significant knowledge of investment products, with an emphasis on deferred compensation, defined benefit and defined contribution plans. Good understanding of specific plan provisions and legislative regulations and compliance issues
  • Sales management experience in financial services and/or public sector financial services is highly desirable
  • Strong record of success in cultivating, managing and expanding client relationships
  • Highly proficient with computer database management software programs necessary for a field management position preferably Salesforce
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills necessary. Demonstrated ability to make effective group presentations.
  • Thorough knowledge of RPS’s field responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience coaching under performers.
