What you do:
The Health Information Manager (Medical Records) is responsible for maintaining, incorporating, and accurately accounting for resident medical record information. Must be able to work in a dynamic, distracting environment with detail and be discrete in use of confidential information. They are also responsible for ordering necessary medical supplies for the staff and building. Must be self-directed, organized and be able to prioritize work in an efficient manner.
· Oversight of all HIM operational processes (including but not limited to document capture, chart completion, filing and retrieval, managing off-site storage, record management and retention, birth certificate and reporting, and release of information) for all Mission Point facilities.
· Serves as an advisor, liaison and primary contact person to the ambulatory practice locations for HIM management and best practices. This includes, but is not limited to onboarding, training and auditing facility coordinators.
· Ensures necessary HIM policies and procedures, recommends changes as appropriate, and provides relevant feedback.
· Designs and implements HIM shared services operational planning, service level agreements, budgets, workflow processes and internal controls.
· Serves as a key promoter of HIM shared services across all facilities and is responsible for setting the tone as a service organization, continuously seeking to understand, meet and exceed customer expectations and needs.
· Manages vendor and contract relationships, ensuring adherence and negotiation of contracts.
· Assists with physician credentialing and onboarding process.
· Manages compliance with all regulatory and accreditation agencies and other rules for HIM functions, including monitoring new rules and interpretations, ensuring compliance, participating in surveys and correspondence, and the development of action plans as needed.
· Manages user security for organization by creating and managing user roles in applicable programs, including EHR.
· Interacts with administration, physicians, and other department and hospital personnel, and regulatory surveyors as necessary.
· Works collaboratively with physicians and department managers to achieve department and hospital requirements and goals
