We work towards fulfilling our mission through a wide range of after-school support and services that serve over 5,000 children, youth, and families each year. Our vision is to transform the culture of our neighborhoods so that college becomes the expectation for families, rather than the exception.
Program Summary:The MG Summer Program is an enriching 5-week summer program designed to inspire, educate, and empower students through a dynamic blend of College and Career, Ethnic Studies, English, and Art classes. In addition to classroom learning, our program offers recreational activities and field trips to enhance the summer experience for youth. Our program provides a supportive and stimulating academic and personal development environment for SFUSD students looking for an engaging experience while having fun and making new friends. The summer program will start on June 12th and end on July 19th. There will be no programming on June 19th, July 4th, and July 5th.
Position Overview:The High School Summer Program Teacher is a short-term position for 5-weeks from June to July focusing on English or Ethnic Studies. This position allows experienced or relatively new youth development professionals to sharpen their skills or gain hands-on experience in lesson planning, leading workshops, and working with SFUSD students. The Summer Program Teacher can help build cultural and educational bridges by engaging students in interactive learning experiences for the summer. Each Summer Program Teacher will have MG staff support in the classroom and will collaborate with MG staff when planning lessons.
