About the Ed Ladder: The Ed Ladder (TEL) is a 501c3 non-profit organization formed by educators in 2013 to assist under-served learners, i.e., those students who proverbially "fall through the cracks," through supplemental academic instruction and mentoring on study and life skills. A ladder enables us to get to a place we otherwise would be unable to reach. The ED Ladder gets into those very cracks and reinforces students’ capabilities so they can climb out themselves. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide in-person 1:1 or small group academic support to 4-8th graders in elementary and/or middle school math and English Language Arts
Academic Coaching will take place on the Waldorf campus directly after school.
Document all work performed into a tutoring database as a requirement for payment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one-year teaching/tutoring/coaching experience in the areas of elementary and/or middle school math and English Language Arts
Ability to build rapport with students and be upbeat, engaging, patient, and able to motivate learners
High school diploma and at least 90-96 accumulated undergraduate credits required.
Genuine passion for learning and teaching
Teaching credential is not required
Life experience similar to the student population is preferred
Candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish are encouraged to apply

Compensation: The hourly range for this position will be paid according to the following salary schedule:
Bachelor's without credential: $22/hour 1:1, $25/hour 2 or more students in a group
Master's without credential or out-of-state credential: $30/hour
State of CA credential: $36/hour
Additional Information:
This position is part-time, 4 to 8 hours per week, with work on-site, at the Waldorf School of San Diego
Candidates must be able to pass a Live Scan background check and a TB test as a requirement for employment.
