As our System Operator II, III - Generation & Interchange , you will be part of the close-knit team that helps MISO manage approximately 20% of the North American electric grid load.

This team is involved in two very important roles within MISO; coordinating the interchange of power between MISO and adjacent Balancing Authorities as well as direct communications with MISO Member Generator Operators and Market Participants.

As our System Operator II, III - Generation & Interchange, you will be directly responsible for the real-time generation interaction between MISO and its Market Participants, as well as coordinating power interchange between the MISO area and other Balancing Authority areas in the Eastern Interconnection of the electric grid, helping to maintain a reliable and efficient electric system.

In one year as our System Operator II, III - Generation & Interchange, you will know you were successful if you successfully complete the training and certification program for this position.

Once certified, experience will be gained within MISO Operations and success will be measured based upon continued reliable and efficient operations.

  • A current NERC / RC Certification OR will be able to obtain a NERC / RC Certification within six months of employment.
  • Successful completion of Generation & Interchange Certification Board exam
  • Two or more years of previous related Engineering, Business, or related technical field experience

We would also prefer candidates with the following work experience :

Previous energy industry experience

Appropriate level will be determined based upon experience and knowledge.
