Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Workers to join our team. As a Direct Care Worker, you will provide essential support and assistance to individuals with various needs, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs). Your role will involve promoting independence, ensuring the well-being of residents, and fostering a positive and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals in accordance with their individualized care plans
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medication records with med training provided by agency
- Monitor and document changes in residents' physical and emotional well-being
- Promote socialization and engagement through meaningful activities and interactions
- Advocate for resident rights and ensure their privacy and dignity are respected
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information
- Assist with meal planning, preparation, and feeding as needed
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Provide transportation for residents to appointments or outings as required
Skills:
- Experience in dementia care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of working with individuals with autism is a plus
- Proficient in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Familiarity with social work principles and practices
- Competent in medication administration and documentation
- Understanding of resident rights and ability to advocate for them
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required
- First aid certification is preferred but not required
- Experience in direct support roles is highly valued
