Minnewaska Lutheran Home is Hiring a Nurse Consultant - Minnewaska Management Group Near Starbuck, MN

TITLE: Nurse Consultant

REPORTS TO:  Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Job Summary:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the CEO by providing consultation and to complete special projects as assigned. Service is focused on the skilled nursing home facilities managed by Minnewaska Community Health Services. Consultation may include operational and clinical assessments, performance improvement, education and training, administrative support, survey readiness, or interim management assignments.

Qualifications: Must have a bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred. Must be licensed as an RN in the state of MN. Must have been in a long-term care leadership role for five years. Excellent leadership, communication and customer service orientation. Highly collaborative. Objective and able to work through high pressure situations in a confidential manner. Well-developed judgment. Able to build solid relationships with all levels of the organization including between facilities staff, interdisciplinary teams, residents and families. Knowledge of state and federal regulations. Continuing education of industry trends or other educational opportunities that are pertinent for this position. Flexibility for travel as requested within the state, including over-night travel. Ability to read, write and speak English, and complete and pass a state required background study form which checks for certain criminal convictions or serious/recurring maltreatment.

General Responsibilities:

·Completes special projects as assigned by the CEO.

·Assists with assessing, planning, developing and implementing systems, processes and other needs as requested.

·Assists with implementation of Quality Assessment and Improvement processes and Process Improvement Projects as requested.

·Provides consultation and technical assistance to ensure State and Federal regulatory compliance.

·Provides interim nursing home DON management or assistance as requested.

·Identifies training needs; plans and conducts training/in-services as requested.

·Assists in the selection and hiring of key management staff.

·Conducts onsite analysis of systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.

·Participates in/conducts audits and facility assessments as requested.

·Assists managers to assure adherence to operations policies/procedures.

·Provides written reports as requested in a timely manner.

·Maintains current working knowledge of applicable state and federal standards, regulations and industry standards of proactive and professional practice guidelines.

·Functions within scope of work as defined by the CEO.

·Maintains client confidentiality and functions within HIPAA regulations and corporate compliance.

·Other duties as assigned.
