Position Summary/Objective: This position will work with the facilities team on the day-to-day operations of Timberwolves and Lynx spaces at the practice facility and Target Center arena. This person will be responsible for the regular maintenance and upkeep of these spaces, coordination for all events at Mayo Clinic Square and Target Center including the planning, setup, and teardown of these events, and assisting in long term strategies and facility developments. Additionally, on game-days this position will assist the Senior Manager of Facilities to make sure Target Center is game-day ready with regards to spaces around the courts, truck dock, concourses, and locker rooms. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform these essential functions: Respond in a timely manner to facility maintenance tickets for Mayo Clinic Square and Target Center. Coordinate needed assets and resources to fulfill requests. Schedule annual inspections and routine preventative maintenance with outside groups, vendors, and consultants. Event management, including set up and take down for various events and activities inside the Timberwolves and Lynx spaces, and coordination of security and/or rental equipment. Coordinate with and verify work of third-party cleaning crew. Draft memos and provide communications to employees with facility updates and other important information. Responsible for maintaining a highly presentable office space that is “show ready” at all times, which will include performing recurring preventative maintenance and reactive tasks that include minor touch up, cleaning, and repairs. Interact with and schedule established vendors as-needed to facilitate the operations of Lynx and Timberwolves spaces. Communicate with building management to provide essential information to Timberwolves and Lynx staff and building landlord. Manage daily pool logs and verification of proper chemical testing and storage. Handle and store all materials in compliance with city and state ordinances and laws. Perform minor repairs to ensure pumps and plumbing are efficiently running. Ensure Target Center Changeover Department has accurately set-up the courtside scorer’s table, visiting and home bench areas, camera platforms and line of sight areas, LED signage, and other areas as designated. Confirm that all digital signage in Upper Concourse, Lower Concourse, and Skyway are working and displaying correct content. Assist Senior Manager of Facilities to ensure broadcast trucks are parked in correct designated areas and in a timely manner in accordance with NBA mandates. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook) is preferred. Able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with a proven track record to be a self-starter and problem-solver. Strong ability to multi-task and lead specific processes within the department. Knowledge of the of weight, cardio and basketball equipment, such as stanchions and goals. Previous experience in a fast paced, high-energy environment. Ability to get a CPO License, with knowledge of pools and spas preferred, Basic maintenance skills, as it pertains to HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical is preferred, but not required. Experience: Experience in facility management is preferred. Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred. Supervisory Responsibility, if any: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Travel: This position does not travel. Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment. In addition to working office hours staff may work Timberwolves and Lynx home games, as well as external events. Work is both sedentary and active in nature. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes ascending and descending bleachers/steps, walking on a catwalk over arena floor (100 feet up), and crawling into tight and dimly lit spaces (under bleachers/risers) to troubleshoot issues. In the sports arena the work conditions may sometimes be dirty from prior events in the arena (sticky and dirty floors). Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others, in person, over the telephone, and various forms of electronic communication. The employee frequently is required to spend hours standing or walking in the facility, and will occasionally need to crawl and kneel, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend ladders, bleachers/steps, and traverse around the building both on event days and non-event days. Employee will frequently use power tools, such as saws and drills, as well as non-power tools. This position will frequently lift construction materials or other building related items and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. Additionally, the position requires lifting of chairs, tables and assisting in laying down and picking up a basketball court cover. Pushing and pulling heavy carts is also required.
