This is a skilled position responsible for the preventative and emergency maintenance of Public Works equipment. The position also supports the department in managing callout maintenance and snow removal operations.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Three years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic OR four years combination of verifiable, formal training and experience. Current automotive mechanics may be considered with prior heavy equipment mechanic experience.
Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s license, with Tanker endorsement (or ability to obtain endorsement within 6 months of hire).
Previous experience and skill in the safe operation of heavy construction and maintenance equipment.
Experience with welding and fabrication.
