Minnesota Automobile Dealers Association protects and promotes new car and truck dealerships in Minnesota. We are looking for Internal Legal Counsel to serve our members and join our team.

Reports to: MADA President

Requirements for the position include:

· A Juris Doctorate degree and licensed to practice law in The State of Minnesota.

· Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in corporate, employment and labor or franchise law.

· Association Management, Automotive Retail or Political Experience a plus.

General duties:

· Provide legal advice.

· Practice good governance.

· Negotiate and interpret contracts.

· Assess and mitigate legal risk.

· Ensure adherence to industry and organizational policies.

· Interpret and clarify legal language.

· Educate stakeholders on compliance, the law, and regulations.

· Draft and interpret industry specific legislation.

· Coordinate and supervise outside legal counsel.
