Activities Director - Montessori School and Child Care
We are currently interviewing for an experienced Activities Director to work full-time at our Minneapolis school. The Activities Director is responsible for planning art, music, dance/phys ed., stories, dramatic play, and outdoor activities during the afternoon program, communicating with parents during pick-up time, supervising assisting staff, and closing the school. Other duties include assisting in the classroom during the regular school day, maintaining staff to child ratios in the afternoon, ordering school supplies and ensuring children sign out at the end of the school day.

Qualifications:.

• Management experience preferred
• Knowledge of DHS Rule 3
• Minimum 2 years classroom experience in a licensed child care center
• Minimum 12 college credits in early childhood education or related field
• Montessori experience desired but not required if applicant is open to learning about Montessori
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate tasks.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
• Effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with a variety of people (staff, parents, children)
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
• Commitment to excellence
• Flexibility and willingness to step in where needed is essential.
