WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Reporting to the Vice President of Insurance and Risk and located in Plano Texas, US, the Claims Analyst will investigate, manage and settle all the Mini Mall Storage Properties US and Avenue Living US claims within the respective companies SIR and facilitate the diligent resolution of claims above SIR with our TPA and insurer partners. This position will be a member of the Insurance and Risk team.

  • Review incident reports to determine action internally or for assignment to a third-party adjuster.
  • Coordinates appropriate incident response to the field.
  • Directly investigates and manages claims within the company's SIR and makes solid recommendations for resolution with a strong preference to cost control.
  • Manages administration and payment of invoices for property, storage contents, workers' compensation, and liability claims, issues PO’s for approval, and ensures timely payment.
  • Work with insurers, operations, and technical services on the management of property claims and presentation of claims to insurers or management depending on the nature of the claim.
  • Recommend reserves, recommend investigation required for exposure, prepare action plans for approval, and negotiate fair and satisfactory settlements.
  • Documents all claims activities and correspondence in Avenue’s Claims Management System
  • Works with Risk Analysts to review and analyze incident and claims data for trends, determining possible risk control activities.
  • Pursue subrogation and recoveries from third-party insurers and recommend files for litigation.
  • Manges relations with third-party claims, forensic, and restoration vendors.
  • Supports the Vice President regarding all aspects of corporate insurance programs. Responsibilities include claims administration, loss forecasting, and analysis to assist in loss reduction and other duties as may be assigned.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED?

  • 2 – 4 Year College program or equivalent related experience in, finance, risk management, and/or equivalent
  • 4-5 Years of experience in with a combination of adjusting, or risk management experience will be considered.
  • Enrolment in or completion of CRM or CWCS or CWCA designation is preferred.
  • Prior experience in property or worker's compensation claims adjusting is mandatory.
  • Multi-line commercial adjusting and subrogation experience in the real estate field is preferred.
  • Familiarity with independent adjusting industry, large risk, and manuscript wordings would be ideal.
  • Previous experience in building construction or restoration projects will be an asset.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean abstract.
  • Ability to travel to support claims resolution.
  • Flexibility – Mini Mall & Avenue Living are very active organizations – that require the ability to multitask, self-regulate, and prioritize.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and oral communication with the ability to present to all staff levels including management.
  • Requires a high level of mathematical and reasoning ability to calculate and analyze data to arrive at a logical conclusion.
