We are seeking to hire a friendly, energetic, and helpful person to fill a bookkeeper/cashier position. Bookkeeping duties include receiving, recording and banking cash and checks, preparing bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, balancing/verifying receipts, and sending cash, checks and other forms of payment to the bank. Bookkeeping shifts will be available in the absence of the head bookkeeper. Cashier duties include checking out customers, collecting money for purchases, operating a cash register, and assisting customers with store services. If you enjoy working with people, this can be a very rewarding work environment. 

· This position requires an employee to be able to stand at a cash register station for periods of time. 

· Must be able to physically handle grocery items with typical weights of 2lbs, and occasionally up to 25lbs. 

· Bookkeeping shifts include early morning hours and weekend shifts. Cashier shifts include morning, afternoon and evening shifts, with flexibility in terms of scheduling. 

· Must be able to operate computers programmed with accounting software. 

· Must be able to debit, credit, and total accounts on computer spreadsheets and databases.

· Must be able to operate a 10-key calculator, computer and copy machines.

· Must be able to reconcile or note and report discrepancies found in records, match order forms with invoices, and perform general office duties such as filing, answering telephones and routine correspondence.

· Must be able to code documents according to company procedures and ensure the security of the bookkeeping office at all times in compliance with company policy.
