Early childhood teachers plan to conduct education programs for young children. The Early Childhood Teacher of the MOM Child Care Center is responsible to the Director/Assistant Director. Included within these responsibilities are the following:

_ Must be at least 21 years of age.

_ Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

_ In addition to the General Requirements, the Assistant Director/Teacher must have achieved:

_ Two years of credit from an accredited college or university with 18 semester or equivalent quarter hours in courses related directly to childcare and/or child development from birth to age six: OR

_ Two years (3120 clock hours) of child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten, or licensed day care center, one year of college credits with 10 semester or equivalent quarter hours in courses related directly to childcare and/or child development, and proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university until two years of college have been achieved. A total of 18 hours in courses related directly to childcare and/or child development is required to be obtained within the total two years of college credits; OR

_ Completion of the credentialing program of the CDA National Credentialing Award System (The Child Development Associate, 1982) with a current credential quarter hours in courses related to childcare and/or child development from birth to age six at an accredited college or university, and 2 years (3120 clock hours) child development experience in a nursery school, kindergarten or licensed day care center.

_ Persons who are currently employed as early childhood teacher and who meet the qualifications of the early childhood teacher position at the time of their most recent employment are considered qualified. Persons who are currently employed as early childhood teacher and are working toward becoming fully qualified for the position of early childhood teacher under the standards in force at the time of their most recent employment must continue to work to meet those qualifications until completed and shall complete them within two years of the effective date of this rule.

_ Shall have or will have obtained prior to 90 day evaluation 15 clock hours of workshops.

_ Shall be responsible in assisting the center director & assistant director with the managing, planning and supervision of the program and activities of the children, orientation to newly employed staff, and on-site supervision of all teaching staff. Orientation and training shall include health and safety procedures, planned program activities, and meal patterns at the center; and special health, developmental or nutritional needs of children assigned to individual childcare staff.

_Maintains open communications with parents to ensure good continuing relationships.

_ Works with teachers to establish material and equipment needs and priorities to meet program needs. Other duties as assigned.

Provide feedback to the members of the team.

_ Maintain appropriate records.

_ Participate in center events.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
