Join Our Team as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner!

Role Overview:

As one of our PMHNPs, you will be crucial in providing and ensuring our patients receive the highest quality of care.

Pay: $145,000 annually with opportunities for additional income.

Schedule:

• Days: Monday through Friday.
• Hours: Generally between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm.
• Call: one weekday per week and one weekend per month

Your responsibilities will include:

• Serve as Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner for patients admitted to the inpatient behavioral health unit (BHU);
• Lead rounds and provide supervisory direction to the team regarding treatment planning including, but not limited to, medication management, length of stay challenges, conversion of legal status, disposition, and transfer of patients to other hospitals and facilities;
• Complete all initial assessments, discharge assessments, involuntary and voluntary paperwork, and consults of significant complexity, including capacity evaluations;
• Perform comprehensive psychiatry consults on patients in the Emergency Department and medical-surgical floors as requested;
• Complete psychiatry consults within 24-hours of request, and the same day if ordered by 12 pm;
• Support presentation of BHU cases during involuntary court hearings and medication panel meetings as needed;
• Complete clinical documentation in the hospital’s EMR on the same day, with an itemized list of pertinent diagnoses and clear treatment plans;
• Communicate treatment recommendations on psychiatry consult patients back to the ordering physician or APP according to hospital policy and workflows.

Educational/Licensing Requirements:

• PMHNP-BC with a Maryland, Virginia, or DC license (or willingness to get one, required).
