Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller - Behavioral Health, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for behavioral health medical services. Your expertise in behavioral health medical coding, systems, and terminology will be essential in processing claims and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. This is a contract position based in our office.

Responsibilities:

- Process daily billing payments

- Review and validate/verify codes assigned by EHR system (ICD-10, etc.) for billing purposes

- Maintain and enter coded information into billing software/systems

- Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations for procedures

- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies working with our third-party vendor

- Reconcile payments received from patients and insurance

- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve any billing discrepancies

- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding practices

- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations

- Assist with medical collections as needed

Qualifications:

- Previous experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role

- Proficient in medical coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10, etc.) and terminology

- Familiarity with medical billing software/systems

- Knowledge of insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Excellent organizational and time management skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal

Note: All positions at our company are paid positions, including internships.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
