Job Summary:

Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. High school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in an area of specialty with 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and patching holes or cracks to ensure a smooth and clean base for painting.
• Surface Protection: Protect surrounding areas from paint spills or damage by using drop cloths, tape, and other protective materials. Setting up Barriers as needed to prevent dust and paint from leaving the work area.
• Paint Application: Apply paint or other finishes to walls, ceilings, doors, and other hospital surfaces using brushes, rollers, or sprayers. Ensure even coverage and proper application techniques.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and guidelines, including the proper handling and disposal of paint materials and the use of protective equipment. Keep work area clean and clutter free. Proper placement of signage.
• Repair Work: Perform minor repairs to damaged surfaces before painting, such as filling in holes or repairing drywall.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on painting equipment, such as cleaning brushes and rollers, and maintaining spray equipment.
• Coordination: Coordinate with hospital staff to schedule painting projects in a way that minimizes disruption to patient care and operations.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that painted surfaces meet quality standards and specifications, including proper adhesion, smoothness, and color consistency.
• Documentation: Keep records of paint colors used, quantities, and areas painted for future reference and maintenance. Above Ceiling, Barrier inspection, dust control forms, ICRA, ILSM paperwork as needed.
• Communication: Communicate effectively with hospital staff and supervisors to report progress, address concerns, and coordinate work activities.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors as needed to complete painting projects efficiently and effectively. Help as needed with Maintenance staff.
• Other Duties: Replace and install ceiling tiles as needed. Wire pulling as needed. Install and seal Fire barriers and cable pathways. Install Cameras and access control wiring. Clean above ceilings, Above ceiling inspection. And duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; further technical training or certification in facility maintenance is preferred.
• Computer skills, working with and using PC-based programs, Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with healthcare staff and management.
• Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, lift heavy objects, and respond promptly to emergencies.
