After-School Childcare Teacher

Milwaukee Montessori School has an immediate opening for an after-school childcare teacher to work from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm five days a week, year-round. Children range in age from 3 - 14 and the applicant should be prepared to work cohesively with the lead teachers. The job duties range from managing transitions, supervising outdoor play, and providing snacks.

Other Daily Responsibilities Include

• Listening to children read, or reading to them.
• Helping children who need support to complete tasks
• Supervise and guide students on the playground and during gym time
• Provide a safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing facilities
• Follow and enforce school standards and procedures
• Communicate and collaborate with school faculty

Skills / Qualifications:

• The position does not require prior experience but does require a willingness to learn, the ability to accept all feedback, and implement suggestions as prescribed
• Excellent verbal communication skills and emotional control are required for a bustling environment
• Must be able to lift at least fifty pounds
