Job DescriptionWe are looking for energetic, motivated, creative, experienced and multi-talented people with the ability to lead groups of 10-15 children from Kindergarten up to 5th grade in our after school enrichment programs. This includes curriculum designing, planning activities and supporting the daily operations of the programs. This is a part-time position starting late August to late June operating Monday through Friday with after-school hours 2:30 to 6:15pm at Collicot and Cunningham Schools. 3:00-6:15pm at Glover and Tucker schools. Additional hours are available during school half days and school vacation weeks. Some of the responsibilities include:•Plan and conduct daily enrichment activities for children, i.e. homework help, physical activities, arts & crafts projects, STEAM, group work, and various other activities determined by supervisor and director•Create weekly documentation to send to families•Have the ability to support and manage large groups of children transitioning into and out of before and after school programs•Provide supervision and support in before and after school setting for students to participate in group class activities and encourage pro-social behaviors•In conjunction with other team members maintain a positive, inclusive environment for both children and adults at all times•Maintain constant communication with supervisor and other staff regarding children or program issues•Record attendance and contact parents with authorization from the director regarding absent students and schedules. Assist site supervisors to call parents to get authorization for an unauthorized adult to pick up the student from the program. Check identification of adult•Participate in weekly staff meetings and attend training opportunities•Present themselves and the program in a professional and friendly manner•Show initiative and be a team player•Expected to commit for at least one full school year•Perform other job-related duties as assignedPHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, walk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to run, during play or responding to an emergency. Employees are frequently required to engage with children on the floor and at their eye level. Employees are frequently required to use their hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects as well as reach. Vision abilities are required for supervision of children.
