Auto Paint Technician

We are a highly reputable family owned, full- service auto body shop, that has been in business for over 50 years and is known for being an icon in the area, as well as the industry. We are currently seeking an experienced Auto Painter Helper to access and repair vehicle damage.

The Painter is a very important part of the collision shop. The first thing our customers see is the paint finish when they pick up their vehicle. We are looking for a team member that wants to keep our customers coming back and referring us.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Typically has a minimum of 3-5 years of prep refinishing experience
• Auto Body Vo-Tech certificate or ASE certification in refinishing preferred
• Must own tools, such as, buffer, orbital sander, primer gun, etc
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Comply with all safety requirements, respirator safety, and fitment/usage.
• Ability to effectively communicate with others, oral and written
• Advanced communication to mentor/coach/train apprentices as required
• Ability to read and understand basic instructions, written estimates, and work orders
• Multi-taking; adapts easily to fast-paced environment
• Personable, friendly demeanor with World Class customer service approach to internal and external customers
• Ability to multi-task and handle 20 projects at a time
• Self-motivated with a cycle time mentality

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prep and assist Auto Painter with attention to detail
• Assess and analyze damaged areas to prep for painting
• Mask or tape off areas/components prior to paint application
• Mix paints to match color specifications or vehicles' original colors
• Paint vehicles with a high level of efficiency
• Check for runs or sags in the paint to ensure a quality product
• Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly workspace
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
• Apply varnish and other finishes
• Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
