This position is located at the Milliken – Magnolia Plant located in Blacksburg, SC and reports to the Process Improvement Manager. The position is responsible for leading continuous improvement efforts at the site. Typical hours are Monday—Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, due to continuous operations of the plant, the work schedule may require arriving before 8:00 am, staying beyond 5:00 pm, and participation in the management team weekend rotation schedule. Key Responsibilities
Develop a thorough understanding of the conditions that impact the processes and products
Use sound project management skills to manage multiple improvement projects
Analyze problems and implement solutions using critical thinking skills
Incorporate creative thinking to problem solving to identify unique and different ways to make things better/more consistent/faster/cheaper/efficient
Prepare diagrams, charts, tables to reflect findings and support recommendations
Communicate effectively with a diverse group of associates
Work effectively with a diverse group of associates to accomplish project and location goals
Participate fully in the Safety Process
Qualifications Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, work under pressure, and meet deadlines
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Qualifications Preferred
Textile, Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering major
Previous manufacturing experience (intern, co-op, or fulltime)
