Miller’s smokehouse is looking to hire an experienced baker who is looking forward to scaling up production and developing new product offerings for multiple menus.
Miller’s Smokehouse is a small-town barbecue joint with a surprisingly vast menu of house-made offerings. Traditional barbecue, full breakfast menu, house-ground burgers, specialty coffee, and much more. The bakery is front-and-center when you enter the shop, and a huge part of our culture. In addition to baking for the restaurant, we produce all the baked goods for our sister company, Muscovy Coffee Roasters. With responsibility for product launches for both the smokehouse and coffee shop menus, the bakery has a revolving door of opportunities for creative freedom.
Requirements
- Baking is something you have a passion for and see being a long-term career
- Weekend and holiday availability; we are busiest on weekends and holidays
- 2 Years of experience (culinary school, restaurant, bakery, coffee shop, etc.)
- 8 hour shifts normally starting between 4:30-6:00 AM
- Physical demands include lifting 50 lbs, standing for long periods, and repetitive motion
Job Functions & Skills
- Working as a team to execute conquer production goals
- Ability to focus in a busy and social environment
- Math skills (recipe creation/scaling, production reports, etc.)
- Ability to understand procedures and communicate them with others
- Baking techniques (piping, laminating, proofing, etc.)
- Conscientious (correct, clean, and efficient)

Payscale
- Starting base hourly rate between $10.50 - $13.00 (Negotiable based on experience)
- Tip pool in addition to hourly rate. Average tips expected to be in excess of $4/hour.
