Job Title: Roll-Off Truck Driver

Responsibilities:

  1. Safe Operation of Roll-Off Truck: Safely operate and drive a roll-off truck to transport dumpsters to and from designated locations, adhering to all traffic laws and company safety policies.

  2. Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload roll-off dumpsters onto and off the truck using hydraulic controls, ensuring proper positioning and securing of the dumpster for transport.

  3. Delivery and Pickup: Deliver roll-off dumpsters to customer sites as scheduled, positioning them in designated areas and ensuring proper placement according to customer specifications. Pickup full dumpsters from customer sites and transport them to appropriate disposal facilities.

  4. Route Planning: Plan efficient routes to minimize driving time and fuel consumption while ensuring timely delivery and pickup of dumpsters.

  5. Customer Interaction: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, addressing any concerns or questions they may have regarding dumpster placement or pickup schedules.

  6. Routine Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance checks on the roll-off truck, including checking fluid levels, inspecting tires, and ensuring all equipment is in proper working condition. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.

  7. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, mileage, and hours worked, as well as any other required documentation such as manifests or disposal tickets.

  8. Adherence to Regulations: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations governing the transportation and disposal of waste materials, including proper handling and disposal procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a roll-off truck.
  • Clean driving record with no major violations.
  • Prior experience operating roll-off trucks or similar heavy equipment preferred.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to the transportation and disposal of waste materials.
  • Ability to safely operate hydraulic controls and other equipment on the roll-off truck.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects.
  • Attention to detail and ability to accurately complete required paperwork.

Working Conditions:

  • Work may be performed in various weather conditions and environments, including exposure to dust, fumes, and other potential hazards.
  • Flexible schedule may be required, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional overtime.
  • Physical demands include lifting, bending, and operating heavy equipment in sometimes tight or confined spaces.
