Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Optician to join our team. As an Optician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional eye care services to our patients. You will assist customers in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses, ensuring their vision needs are met with precision and accuracy. Duties: - Assist customers in selecting appropriate eyeglasses frames based on their preferences, facial features, and prescription requirements - Take accurate measurements of customers' eyes, including pupillary distance and optical centers - Fit eyeglasses frames by adjusting temples, nose pads, and bridges to ensure proper alignment and comfort - Educate customers on proper eyeglass and contact lens care, including cleaning techniques and storage methods - Process orders for eyeglasses, contact lenses, and other optical products - Perform repairs and adjustments on damaged or ill-fitting eyewear - Maintain accurate records of customer prescriptions, orders, and payments - Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to ensure accurate prescription fulfillment - Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in optical technology and products Skills: - Strong knowledge of optical principles, including lens materials, coatings, and designs - Familiarity with medical terminology related to ophthalmology and optometry - Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (Epic) for patient documentation - Experience working in a retail sales environment, preferably within the optical industry - Ability to interpret prescriptions accurately and make appropriate recommendations to customers - Knowledge of medical coding systems for insurance billing purposes - Understanding of ocular anatomy and physiology - Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and healthcare professionals - Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Please note that all positions at our company are paid positions.
