Millennium Kids Creative Center is Hiring a Toddler/ Preschool Assistant Teacher Near Seattle, WA

Toddler/ Preschool Room Assistant at Child Care Facility in South Seattle (Georgetown).

Assistant Teacher for children 1 year old to 3 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for designing and implementing age-appropriate weekly lesson plans. Coordinate with co-teacher(s) on classroom activities, curriculum development and communications to parents.
  • Collaborate with lead teacher{s) and co-teacher(s) to ensure a variety of activities are offered.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to lead teacher and/or support staff of classroom responsibilities.
  • Provide a clean, safe learning environment while maintaining organization of classroom materials and supplies.
  • Monitor equipment for safety hazards and inform center director accordingly.
  • Develop outdoor curriculum activities with Lead Teacher for playground and walks in the neighborhood/community.
  • Establish community connections with our neighboring businesses.
  • Positive communication to center director as well as other staff .
  • Other childcare duties as assigned.

Daily Tasks:

  • Create and distribute regular communications to parents via email or classroom newsletters.
  • Provide positive communication to parents/families on a daily basis.
  • Utilize assigned planning time as well as naptime to design lesson plans, activities and/or complete daily 'What I did today' sheets, for parents.
  • Help lead teacher with general overall classroom management, physical environment and establish classroom routines to ensure sanitizing, laundry and other responsibilities are being completed.
  • Maintain documentation of diapering, bottles, naptimes, and incident reports.
  • Provide appropriate emotional and social support for each child's development.
  • Use positive guidance and discipline methods that strengthen each child's problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Be responsible for playground safety and cleanliness.
  • Provide culturally relevant and developmentally appropriate activities and interactions with children.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 20.00-24.00 per hour depending on experience and education.
