Mill Rock Packaging is excited to start the search for a Maintenance / Electrical Technician located onsite at our Renton, WA facility, reporting to the Maintenance Manager.

Mill Rock Packaging in Renton (formerly Trojan Lithograph) is one of the many facilities that make up Mill Rock Packaging, a quickly growing platform in the packaging industry and a market leader in the design, engineering and production of high-end, sustainable and customized graphic paperboard, folding carton and commercial printing products. The facility serves customers in various dynamic industries including consumer staples, food and beverage, technology, pharmaceuticals, health, beauty and more.

As a Maintenance/Electrical Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing production equipment. The responsible party should have strong initiative, easily adapt to change, work well in a team environment and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Job Requirements

• Ability to interpret product layouts and production specifications.
• Trouble shoot and repair equipment problems.
• Diagnose low and high voltage electrical circuits.
• Ability to maintain, operate, troubleshoot and repair Allen Bradley, B&R, GE and Siemens PLC’s and frequency controls.
• Working knowledge of facilities HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Security and Fire Protection systems.
• Able to read and utilize electrical schematics to troubleshoot and repair manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain records of repairs & preventive maintenance.
• Requisitions equipment and supplies.
• Anticipates and identifies potential problems and communicates appropriate information to direct supervisor, co-workers, and other supervisors to help ensure company delivers on commitments to the customers.
• Teaches manufacturing team members the proper operation and maintenance of the plant equipment.
• Keeps work area clean and well organized. Support department’s 7S processes and quality improvement processes.
• Support department in maintaining equipment per company Total Preventive Maintenance (TPM) guidelines.
• Initiates action to prevent problems, document quality problems, contribute solutions to problems, and verify implementation of solutions. Control further processing when a problem is identified.
• Respect and conform to all accepted safe work practices and standards.
• Ability to work overtime as needed, including weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Steel toe or composite shoes are required as well as hearing protection.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. This position requires repetitive lifting and bending.

The employee must be able to stand for 8 hours. The employee must be able to regularly lift/or move 50-80 lbs.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $36.38/hour to $37.47/hour. Pay is based on a variety of complex factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Depending on the position, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of robust medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and life insurance benefits.

Capabilities & Experience:

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance.
• Mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Ability to read and comprehend safety and operational instructions, procedures, and policies.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
• Ability to carry out detailed written and/or verbal instructions and operational procedures.
• Problem-solving and analysis abilities involving concrete variables in standard situations.
• Computer Skills Basic computer skills are necessary to read work instructions, record job data, follow work schedules, and communicate electronically via email.
