OPPORTUNITY
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, our Mac Operator prepares customer supplied files for press using prepress software on a Mac OS computer; generates hard proofs as required; creates output plates for press from our CTP device as needed.
This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties:
- Follow job ticket instructions, layout and all other supporting documentation.
- Manage production files.
- Evaluate files and perform necessary changes to meet production and customer requirements and report concerns or questions to a supervisor or a customer service representative.
- Verify production files to customer’s original file for accuracy.
- Assist sales support and production personnel with issues and quality concerns.
- Assess color fidelity of images, optimize images for press and make color corrections as directed.
- Maintain working order of workstations, software and other Imaging equipment.
- Assist in proofing and Ctp when needed.
- Communicate effectively, write legibly and adhere to all documentation requirements.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the workday.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Demonstrates confidence in root-cause analysis for prepress issues and production troubleshooting.
- Must have excellent computer skills, specifically with a Mac operating system.
- Advanced hardware and graphics software skills, ability to fix hardware/software issues and aptitude to learn new applications.
- Must be able to work independently on assigned projects and still have the ability to be highly collaborative with the sales and operations teams.

What Will Make You Stand Out
- Prior experience on a prepress team
Minimum Education/Experience:
- GED or High School Equivalent and 5-7 years progressively responsible related experience
Preferred Experience:
- Associate's Degree (two year college or technical school)
- Four to ten years related experience in a similar role
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work in an office setting at a desk where you will spend the majority of your day on a computer. At times you will be required to enter the production floor and be exposed to large production equipment with loud sounds and where there is moving forklifts and pallet movers.
